I filmed this review a fair bit earlier in this season and still have high regard for these companies, especially Lucy Activewear (well made, technical, and for all women), and Onzie (edge and price), and Kira Grace (best high neck tops), and Sarah Todd (my favorite leggings ever especially paired with my well worn, money’s worth Frye boots). But sadly, I have since learned Sarah Todd is selling out of her stock and not making anymore new apparel as of today. Her pants are a staple in my wardrobe again this year! You can get great deals on these leggings and my faves are the Fair Isle Skinny. I hope Sarah ends up designing for another brand!
I also tried some new brands which I was very fond of on a recent shoot for my BarreAmped Bounce DVD. Must shout out to Alo Yoga for gorgeous and well fitting apparel. My co-star, Jess Speers, wore Alala and it was very supportive, edgy, and looked great on set. (I kind of had my side eyes on that outfit! :).

For the upcoming BarreAmped Bounce Online Teacher Training, I wore mostly Onzie. This brand simply looks amazing on camera, is so flattering, and the price cannot be beat. I am obsessed with their high waisted long leggings!
I also wore Michi on a recent shoot I did with Pilates Style Magazine. I LOVE their Matrix Bustier. Over the last couple of years, I have acquired several Michi pieces. Michi is one of the highest end brands out there and very well made. To me, most of their tops run small but the Matrix Bustier ran a bit large. If I am remembering correctly, they also were the first to originate mesh in leggings.
When I look at my closet and begin to see excess, I start handing over to my family and friends. I do not hold onto apparel thinking I will wear it “one day.” I have given so many of my pieces away to others because shooting video and content for a magazine or fitness blog, I get new pieces often. I am not a hoarder by any means.
But I also want you to know that I shop sales, get pro discounts from many companies, and get sent samples sometimes. Although, I do pay full price sometimes, please don’t ever feel like you’re missing out if you only have a Target or Old Navy budget. If you want edgier or more technical pieces, sign up for emails from these companies so you know when there is a sale. A few good pieces is all you need to start a quality collection. A good black pant that supports you where you need it and that you feel fabulous in would be my first investment if I were you. (Ie, lucy’s Perfect Core).

PRO TIP – Wash your apparel on cold and always allow to hang dry so your investment will last longer.
